T.H.E. Classes

T.H.E. Classes is an acronym for Tuesday Homeschool Elective Classes, fondly called "The Classes" by students and families alike who look forward to an afternoon of learning and interacting with other homeschool families. We are a Christian group of homeschool moms who initially started meeting together for a homeschool choir; a drama class was quickly added; and now a full afternoon of classes is offered for Elementary, Middle and High School students. That initial group of moms (and their husbands) now make up a voluntary board that organizes, oversees and often teaches THE Classes. Our goal is to honor God in all that we do and through Him establish a learning environment that provides support, fellowship and opportunities to the homeschoolers of Randolph County.

We are not an exclusive group; T.H.E. Classes are open to all homeschoolers. As we have grown in numbers, we have had to limit the numbers in some of our classes. We ask for your understanding as we learn as we grow and adapt. We don't claim to have everything figured out or always under control - this is a work in progress, and we make changes as we find what works. If you have a suggestion or a concern, please feel free to contact one of the board members. Board Members are located at the end of this page.

Classes meet every Tuesday
at New Life Family Fellowship Church
Location is 1354 Allred Street, Asheboro,
unless otherwise stated!

THE Classes registration has changed as follows:

Early Registration Date: August 24th, 2010
Registration will be at NLFF in the basement again this year.
You will need to start at the form table, fill out papers and then make your loop around to the end to pay.

There is a $10.00 Facility Fee per family/per semester for participating in any of THE class. In addition, some classes are free; some have a charge (please check each class listing). Payment can be made at registration.
ALL PAYMENTS will need to be paid by the FIRST CLASS this year.

You are welcome to make two payments.
Half at registration and the other Half on the first day if needed.

If your child is taking Choir you will need to write a separate check made payable to Tosha Lanier. All other checks will be made payable to HARC.

1:00 - 2:30 Registration for all Previous Families

2:30 - 3:00  Registration for NEW Families.

NEW Families Policy:  Any NEW (new is defined as never attended THE Classes before) families interested in registering for THE Classes - will be able to sign up from 2:30-3:00. If you are placed on a waiting list then we will notify you at a later date to let you know if you were placed in a class.

Choir/Chorus/PE are open to all new and returning students.
These classes do not have a class limit size.

We are sorry if you feel this is unfair but due to our facility
class sizes are  limits due to space.

We need each family to help us make these classes possible by volunteering for at least 2 slots/dates per week for cleanup and room monitors etc. There will be a sign up sheet on Registration Day.

You will be signing up for:
1- Clean Up (vacuum upstairs, downstairs hallway, trash cans)
2- Kitchen, Basement Clean Up
3- Classroom Monitors/Helpers for certain classes.

We are very excited about the many families that will be returning and for new faces joining  T.H.E. Classes this  year!  It is our desire to accommodate the most families possible, present the class information clearly, answer questions, and register students in a fair manner.

and games related to each American Girl Historical Character. This class will be a fun “hands on” class for upper elementary students that will include a little history,
a little geography, a lot of crafting that will hopefully inspire “a little” reading along the way.
